We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Interventional Cardiologist
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret cardiac catheterizations and interventions
- Lead Cath lab team operations and emergency procedures
- Participate in patient management pre/post-intervention
- Train junior staff and review quality metrics.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Basic Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)
Fellowship in relevant specialty (required for MDCN specialist registration):
- FMCP (Fellow, Medical College of Physicians – Cardiology)
- FWACP (Cardiology) – West African College of Physicians
- MRCP (UK) + CCT in Cardiology
- Other certifications registrable by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
Subspecialty Certification in relevant field (must be from accredited institutions):
- Board Certification in Interventional Cardiology (USA – ACGME-accredited)
- DM Cardiology with Interventional Training (India – MCI/NMC-recognized)
- UK Royal College-approved Interventional Fellowship
Years of Experience Required:
- 5 years post-fellowship, with at least 2 years focused on interventional cardiology practice.
Skills and Competencies:
- Diagnostic angiography, PCI, stenting, and device closures
- Cath lab operations and emergency cardiac care
- Patient communication and clinical decision-making.
