Job Title: Account/Inventory Officer
Location: Isolo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
- The Account/Inventory Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and overseeing inventory management across all branches.
- The role ensures that all sales and stock transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and reported.
- This position supports smooth financial operations, stock control, and contributes to overall accountability and efficiency in the business.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties:
- Record daily sales, purchases, expenses, and payment transactions.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales and financial reports.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely follow-up on payments.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
- Assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
Inventory Management Duties:
- Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels across all branches and warehouses.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock with inventory records.
- Track and record stock movements, including purchases, transfers, and sales.
- Identify discrepancies between physical counts and system records and resolve variances.
- Work closely with sales and procurement teams to ensure accurate inventory forecasting.
- Prepare periodic inventory reports for management review.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize stock losses and expiries.
- Ensure all financial and inventory records are properly filed and easily accessible.
- Collaborate with branch teams and sales representatives to ensure accountability.
- Provide management with timely and accurate reports to support decision-making.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls and efficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in accounting and/or inventory management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or FMCG sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and inventory management systems.
- Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
- Good knowledge of inventory control procedures and financial reporting.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with multi-branch inventory management.
- Familiarity with Nigerian tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong Excel skills for financial and inventory reporting.
