Job Title: Account Officer
Location: Ojodu Berger, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Head of Account
Hour Requirement: 8am – 6pm (Monday – Saturday, 9am – 3pm alternate Saturdays)
Job Summary
- Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports. Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information
Duties / Responsibilities
- Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Updating accounts receivable and issue invoices
- Updating accounts payable and perform reconciliations
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Assist with other accounting projects
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
- Assist in stock taking and Inventory management
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting or related discipline from any recognized institution
- 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Qualifications (ACCA or ICAN) certified is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
- Journal entry experience
- Account payment voucher.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Odoo ERP)
- Organization skills
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
- Proficiency with computers and bookkeeping software, strong typing skills.
- Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
- Professional manner and a strong ethical code.
- Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive
Salary
- N100,000 – N120,000 Net (Monthly).
