Title: Account Payable Officer
Location: Lagos
Primary Responsibilities
- Regular communication with internal and external clients via phone and email correspondence
- Processing payment documents in accordance with internal procedures and policy as well as in compliance with legal requirements i.e. Tax laws
- Responsible for posting payment vouchers on Software
- Prepares payment batches, cheques, and other payment instruction types
- Raises and prepares inventory purchase requisition and follows through that inventory account with Vendors get credited.
- Ensures that inventory reorder level is maintained, and inventory does not run out
- Reconcile various accounts including bank accounts by identifying errors in posting and omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards
- Assist with monthly status reports and monthly closings
- Files and maintains payment and accounting documents
- Performs other duties as required to support the department.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree OR HND (Preferably in Finance / Accounting)
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in accounts payable or general accounting of a hotel
- Ability to use MS Excel, and Word.
- Knowledge of SAGE or a similar system is an advantage
- Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and follow-up on pending issues
- Must be open to change and willing to learn new skills
- Progress in ICAN is an advantage.
- Must be a MALE for gender balance.
