Job Title: Accountant (Female)

Location: Tradefair complex, Lagos

Job Summary

  • As we continue to scale, we are seeking a female Accountant who is meticulous, proactive, and experienced in managing finances within a dynamic, tech-driven environment.
  • The ideal candidate must be passionate about accuracy, financial transparency, and contributing to the success of a mission-driven team.
  • The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, managing tax and regulatory compliance, and supporting financial planning.
  • This role is key to maintaining the financial integrity of our growing operations and facilitating smooth financial relationships with partner companies and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Record-Keeping & Bookkeeping:

  • Record all financial transactions accurately, including purchases, payments, sales, returns, and transfers.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, payment gateways, POS systems, and digital wallet platforms.
  • Track online sales transactions and ensure accurate revenue recognition across platforms.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare timely financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, areas of concern, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Support monthly and year-end closing processes.

Tax & Compliance:

  • Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, WHT, and other statutory tax returns in compliance with Nigerian tax laws.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal financial policies and regulatory standards.

Inventory and Cost Tracking:

  • Work with the inventory and operations teams to ensure stock records are reconciled with financial records.
  • Monitor cost of goods sold (COGS), refunds, and product return accounting.

Vendor & Partner Settlements:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Ensure timely settlement of vendor invoices and reconciliation of partner balances.
  • Prepare financial summaries and documentation for brand partners as needed.

Budgeting & Cash Flow Management:

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of company budgets.
  • Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts and ensure adequate liquidity for operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–7 years’ experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in an e-commerce, retail, or FMCG environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Sage, or similar.
  • Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables and formulas).
  • Good knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manages time efficiently, and meets deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and integrity.
