Job Title: Accountant

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
  • Oversee inventory management, including tracking stock movements, conducting inventory counts, and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate valuation and recording of inventory transactions in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Analyze inventory costs and support inventory control strategies to minimize variances and losses.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing inventory and financial data analysis.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits, particularly relating to inventory and cost of goods sold.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls related to accounting and inventory systems.
  • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and operations teams to streamline inventory processes and improve stock accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to inventory management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, inventory costing methods, and financial reporting standards.
