Job Description

• Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.
• The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting principles, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities
Financial Accounting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, inventory, and expenses.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and other financial records.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Prepare and file relevant tax returns (e.g., sales tax, income tax).

Inventory Management:

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of inventory control systems.
• Analyze inventory levels and identify potential areas for improvement in stock management.
• Monitor inventory turnover and address any discrepancies.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.

Internal Controls:

• Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Other Duties:

• Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and analyses as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with vendors, customers, and auditors.
• Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong preference for experience in the retail/supermarket industry.

Salary

• N200,000 – N350,000 Monthly.
