Job Description

  • Development of all marketing and promotional activities for the allocated Brands and Countries (in Anglo-West Africa, French West Africa, East Africa, and Southern Africa export markets) with the main objective of ensuring that the best strategies and tools are made available to all Contracted Distributors and Customer Facing Colleagues), that allows for maximum patient impact. Ensure that the strategies encompass all Countries and Contractors Distributors.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high integrity and accuracy of forecasts
  • Ensure mitigation plans are developed, as required, to reach financial objectives
  • Work with GSC (SA demand planning) to optimize brand forecasts and reduce obsolescence
  • Manage expense budgets
  • Advertising and Promotion Budgets (Direct Marketing Expenses)
  • Manage OME (other marketing expense) budgets, allocated for T&E (Travel and Entertainment)
  • Development of tactical activities, promotional material and promotional campaign, through maximizing customer insights and ensuring maximum patient impact in SSA Distributor Markets
  • Align to local strategies as appropriate
  • Provide accurate analysis of data for each brand, to support proposed tactics
  • Take responsibility for brand requirements in the various countries and deliver the correct content to fulfill the promotional requirements within those channels
  • Launch Planning and Launch readiness for applicable countries
  • Develop plans and core materials in line with the tactical plan (supporting the countries strategies)
  • Drive cross-functional brand leadership through the core brand team
  • Take accountability for ensuring that all content and/or promotion materials and items for promotional purposes are delivered timeously
  • Work closely with Commercial Managers to support recommendations for commercial agreements – depending on market dynamics.
  • Support development of Business Cases with Commercial manager, where applicable
  • Advance proposals for major strategy change to Commercial Lead
  • Alignment across functions and stakeholder management:
  • Align with key internal stakeholders – medical, marketing, commercial manager, Health and Value and Legal – to drive business objectives, and in developing content and tactics for the various brand and countries
  • Lead the efforts to understand and address opportunities and challenges
  • Establish effective peer relationships and strong cross-functional collaboration and communication
  • Collaborate with commercial managers to roll out and drive effective execution of campaigns and programs
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with identified opinion leaders and stakeholders

Accountable:

  • Developing Content, promotional material for all SSA Distributor Markets
    • Development of content and tactical plans
    • Delivery of materials and content for West Africa Region, East Africa Region and Southern Africa Exports
  • Ensure high integrity and accuracy of forecasts
  • Support Business case development
  • Management of expenses
  • Compliance

Shared Accountability

  • Support commercial managers with country Op Plan; revenue targets and brand expense allocations
  • Country specific – ensure that clear inputs on the customer journey for brands
    • shared and development of tactics is done.
  • Long-range demand forecasting with demand planning and manager
  • Revenue adjustments, as needed for LEs (latest estimates), with commercial manager

Qualifications

  • 7+ years pharmaceutical experience
  • 2+ years marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Proficiency in English
