Job Title: Business Development/Commercial Executive
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development/Commercial Executive to join our team.
- The ideal candidate must be talented with expertise in driving business growth and expansion and must have a proven track record in driving business growth and expansion within the maritime industry.
- This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional networking and negotiation skills, capable of identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities
Key Responsibilities
- Research new markets and develop new business strategies.
- Identify Opportunities and make presentations to existing and prospective clients.
- Assist in overseeing branding and marketing endeavours for business goals’ attainment.
- Assist in negotiating new projects and contract terms with new clients.
- Coordinate and liaise with inter-department/inter-company requirements as assigned.
- Provide administrative support for the bid/tender process.
- Recommend tactics, approaches, or new product changes based on market data.
- Assist the commercial department with Policies and strategies
- Undertake any other ad-hoc projects/duties as per assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- A University Degree/HND preferably in Maritime Studies. Other fields like Business Administration, Marketing, Maritime Studies, International Business with significant Maritime Experience will be considered.
- Between 3 – 5 years’ experience in business development, marketing and sales in the maritime industry is preferred; an understanding of maritime logistics and shipping operations.
- Knowledge of the maritime industry including shipping regulations, vessel operations, port operations, freight rates and market trends
- Proven ability to identify and cultivate new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships and expand the market presence.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), negotiation, proposal writing/designs and knowledge of strategic business development.
- Strong networking skills to establish and maintain relationships across various levels.
- Excellent computer skills (CRM, MS Office (Words, Excel, PowerPoint, Prezi, PowerBI etc.).
