We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Business Development Engineer
Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the company’s client base in project management consultancy, asset integrity management, and corrosion monitoring services.
- Identify and analyze market trends, client needs, and competitive landscape to create targeted business proposals.
- Collaborate with technical teams to develop customized service offerings that align with client requirements.
Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in client organizations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, proposals, and negotiations.
- Build trust and rapport with clients to ensure long-term partnerships and repeat business.
Project and Proposal Management:
- Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for new opportunities.
- Work closely with project management and technical teams to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Conduct presentations and pitch services to potential clients.
Market Research and Networking:
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential clients and new business opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, and networking events to promote services.
- Maintain a pipeline of opportunities and provide regular updates to management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with technical teams to stay updated on service capabilities and innovations.
- Provide feedback to the engineering and operations teams based on client requirements and industry trends.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery processes.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or related field).
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, sales, or technical roles in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Proven experience in project management, asset integrity management, or corrosion control services is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of Asset Integrity Management, Inspection services, and Corrosion monitoring technologies.
- Familiarity with Oil and Gas industry standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and best practices.
Key Skills:
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret technical and financial data.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and result-oriented.
Technology:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
- Experience with project management software is a plus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Revenue growth in targeted service areas.
- Number of new clients acquired and retained.
- Conversion rate of leads to contracts.

- Timely submission of proposals and project deliverables.
