Job Title: Cardiologist
Location: Abuja
Reports To: Head of Internal Medicine / Medical Director
Role Overview:
- We are looking for a skilled and experienced Cardiologist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, interpreting diagnostic tests, and creating effective care plans for both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role is vital in delivering exceptional cardiology care and supporting the hospital’s mission of advancing heart health in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions including heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, and congenital heart issues.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as ECG, echocardiography, stress tests, and cardiac catheterization.
- Prescribe and manage medical therapies and lifestyle modification plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Work collaboratively with other physicians, surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families on heart disease prevention, management, and treatment options.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient records in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical research.
- Stay abreast of advancements in cardiology through continuous medical education.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship or board certification in Cardiology (e.g., FWACP, FMCP, or equivalent)
- Fully registered and licensed with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 3 years post-specialization experience in cardiology.
- Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic cardiac tests and managing complex cardiac cases.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and in high-pressure clinical environments.
