Oasis Africa Consulting Limited – Our client, a leading drilling business in Dubai / Nigeria that executes projects for major IOCs, is looking to fill the following position:

Title: Chief Electrician (Cyber/Jack up/Semi-semisubmersible)

Location: Pinnock Beach Estate – Jakande, Lagos

Job Description

• This is a long-term position, and experience in Cyber, Jack up, or Semi-semi-submersible environments is a fundamental requirement. The Chief Electrician in this role is responsible for a range of duties, including the maintenance and repair of electrical systems, parts ordering, and the administration of the PMS system. Hands-on experience with drilling equipment and a deep understanding of testing and repair processes are essential.

Trainings/Certifications/Skills:

• Proficiency in PLC, VFD, network communications types, and troubleshooting.
• Competency in computer software, computer hardware, and drilling electrical equipment.
• Ability to use electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Capability to interpret information from various sources.
• Familiarity with international cable size standards.
• Aptitude for performing basic power calculations.
• Knowledge of ABS standards.
• Strong understanding of drilling equipment and rig operations.
• Possesses excellent technical, supervisory, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10-15 years of experience in onshore or offshore drilling operations.
• BOSIET/HUET/SAS certification.
• Seaman’s Book.
• Covid Vaccination Certificate.
