Job Summary
- The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for shaping and executing the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring the successful transition from asset acquisition to full-scale production.
- This role demands a seasoned leader with deep expertise in upstream oil and gas operations, capable of driving value creation across technical, commercial, and stakeholder dimensions.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s strategy, ensuring alignment with stakeholder interests and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee full-cycle E&P operations from appraisal through production and monetisation of reserves.
- Build, lead, and retain a high-performing management team and ensure proper organisational structure.
- Represent the company to shareholders, regulatory bodies, partners, host communities, and investors.
- Ensure strong HSE culture and compliance across the organisation.
- Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and sustainable profitability.
- Champion innovation, digital transformation, and energy transition initiatives.
- Provide strategic leadership in capital allocation, investment planning, and financial performance management.
- Ensure robust corporate governance, risk management, and compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities, including asset acquisitions, partnerships, and new ventures.
- Integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into the company’s core strategy and operations
- Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Requirements
- A minimum of 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with at least 5 years in executive leadership.
- Advanced degree in related discipline. A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of the Nigerian upstream sector, Production Sharing Contract/Joint Venture, and regulatory environment.
- A dynamic leader with a proven track record in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, particularly in the upstream sector and has successfully led assets from development through to production.
- Leadership experience across technical, commercial, and operational functions.
