Job Objective
- To bridge the gap between clients and reinsurers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Organise and develop relationships in order to find capacities as well as corresponding clients.
- Manage relationships with the regulatory authority and ensure timely submission of NAICOM returns and avoidance of sanctions.
- Liaise with internal customers on invoicing, payments, and analysis of client’s portfolio.
- Develop, amend, and issue contract wordings, endorsements, and cover notes to clients.
- Collect and analyse data for new businesses and renewals.
- Produce final reinsurance documentation to confirm coverage to clients.
- Collect and analyse relevant information, bordereaux and prepare market submissions as well as presentations for new business and/ or renewals.
- Obtain quotations for cover from the market.
- Accompany the Brokers with client visits when required.
- Assist in tender processes and preparation for potential new clients – this includes doing research to understand clients’ needs and portfolios.
- Do amendments to contract wordings, issue endorsements, send coverslips to Reinsurers, and issue cover notes to clients.
- Take ownership and initiative in resolving queries and problems efficiently.
- Process clients’ contracts and documentation on ReSure system.
- Submit contract documentation directly to clients and make necessary follow-ups on outstanding documentation.
- Appropriate record keeping.
- Review and check reinsurance documentation to ensure that it satisfies client requirements and other regulatory standards.
- Build strong relationships with clients and reinsurers.
- Responsible for engaging in business development and/or contributing directly or indirectly to all business development efforts.
- Get involved in claims queries when necessary.
- Any other assigned duties.
Education/Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience & Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant professional qualifications. CII or CIIN.
- An analytical mind.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in the Reinsurance/Insurance industry will be an added advantage. Skill Set Required:
- Communication and writing skills.
- Microsoft Office suites.
- Proven industry experience.
