Job Title: Compliance Staff (Accountant)

Location: Benin, Edo, Kano, Kaduna, Kastina and Abuja

Position Summary:

  • As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • You will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and enforcing compliance programs to mitigate risks and promote a culture of compliance within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Develop, implement, and manage compliance programs and training for employees.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance.
  • Collaborate with various departments to provide guidance on compliance-related issues.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related concerns or incidents.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies as needed

Qualifications

  • Must be an Accountant
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of compliance regulations and statutory provisions
  • Proficiency in various accounting software tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to compliance risk management.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), AML certification) is a plus.
