Job Summary
- We seek a highly skilled and experienced part-time Corporate Lawyer to join our team.
- The successful candidate will provide legal counsel on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, and business transactions.
- They will play a crucial role in safeguarding the company’s interests while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on corporate matters, business structures, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to protect the company’s interests.
- Ensure compliance with corporate laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Support with specific projects such as ESOP, Trust.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, arbitrations, and negotiations.
- Advise on intellectual property rights, data protection laws, and employment law as applicable.
- Monitor changes in legislation and industry regulations to mitigate legal risks.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments, including finance, human resources, and operations, to provide comprehensive legal support.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and government agencies as necessary.
- Assist in developing corporate policies, governance frameworks, and risk management strategies.
- Conduct legal research and prepare reports, memos, and opinions on various corporate legal matters.
Rquirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and Admission to the Bar with a specialization in Corporate Law. Additional areas of expertise are a plus.
- Proven experience as a corporate lawyer, preferably in a corporate or law firm environment, with a minimum of 7 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and Google Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a remote setting.
- Must have excellent Internet connection, technology tools for remote work, and ability to adjust work hours to Central Standard Time (Between 9 am – 5 pm Central Standard Time).
Salary and Benefit
- N225,000 / Month
