Synthetic Description of the Position

  • Under the joint authority of the Councilor of cooperation and cultural action (COCAC) and the Council of’administration (CA) of the French Alliance of Port Harcourt (AFPH), non-profit association under local law, is, you are responsible for the execution of the project of’establishment, while ensuring the proper functioning and development of the’Alliance as well as the follow-up of all the actions carried out there, in accordance with local laws.
  • Three months after taking office you will be given your mission letter co-signed by the Directorate-General for Globalization (DGM), president of the Alliance Board and the Fondation des Alliances France.
  • No later than six months after taking office, you will be required to submit a proposed establishment and a plan of action’action submitted to the approval of the board of’ and targeted by the Embassy, which will cover the duration of your mission.

Main Activities
In this context, you will have to ensure the:

  • Elaboration, proposal and impulse of the strategy of the’establishment through the development of online French courses, the permanent conquest of new audiences, especially in companies, the consolidation of partnerships with higher education institutions for the’enseignement du FLE. –
  • Programming of 15 annual cultural events organized on the sidelines of weekly film screenings. –
  • Participation in the preparation of the budget, the management of staff and the implementation of’ tools of’analysis, monitoring and evaluation in liaison with the board of’administration. –
  • Establishment of’ close relations with professional networks and authorities of the country as ministries of’education and culture of the state of Rivers, France,’ institutions of higher education, the’local association of French teachers, French companies (in particular with the Total) group, francophones and francophiles installed in the region as well as with the’artist associations. preparation and submission of regular reports of’activity to the board of’s, the French Alliance Foundation and the cultural cooperation and action advisor.

Diplomas or Professional Experience Recommended to Perform the Duties

  • Master 2 or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of management of’a public or private establishment in cultural institutions, setting up of’cultural events and setting up partnerships.
  • Good writing skills, in french and english, and ability to communicate in public.
  • Knowledge, a taste for teamwork, loyalty and a sense of common interest. Managerial sense. Knowledge or mastery of’a local language would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of the region as well.
