Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital is a federal government of Nigeria teaching hospital located in Irrua, Edo State, Nigeria. The purpose of Irrua specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH) is to become a Centre of Excellence in Teaching, research and Services to various health problems facing the rural and suburban/small urban town communities. Their aim is to manage and control viral hemorrhagic fevers, with special reference to Lassa Fever. Irrua specialist teaching hospital is also established to provide specialized, affordable, accessible and qualitative promotive, preventive and curative health care services for patients.
Job Title: Director of Administration
Location: Irrua, Edo
Responsibilities
- The Director of Administration shall be responsible to the Chief Medical Director for the day-to-day general administration of the Hospital.
He/She shall be the Chief Administrative Adviser to the Chief Medical Director and Secretary to the Board of Management. In addition, the Director of Administration shall:
- Take charge of the department responsible for administration;
- Participate in formulation, execution, and review of policies as directed by the Chief Medical Director and/or the Board;
- Coordinate the activities of support departments in the Hospital;
- Conduct the correspondence of the Board and keep the records of the Hospital;
- Be responsible for recruitment, promotion, discipline, and staff social welfare;
- Perform such other functions as the Board or Chief Medical Director may from time to time assign to him/her.
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in either Hospital/Health Services Management or the Humanities or Social Sciences from a recognised University.
- Candidates must have not less than twenty-five (25) years of post-qualification working experience in a government establishment.
- Candidate must be in the level of a Director in a government establishment.
- Possession of a Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) would be an added advantage.
- Fellow or Associate of the Institute of Health Services Administrators of Nigeria (IHSAN) or any other relevant professional certificate is an added advantage.
- Candidates must be ICT compliant.
- Working experience in a hospital is an added advantage.
- All relevant documents must be attached.
Salary and Conditions of Service
- Salary and conditions of service shall be in accordance with the Public Service salary structure for this category of officers.
Tenure
- The Director of Administration shall hold office effective from the date of appointment, provided the officer does not attain the mandatory retirement age of sixty (60) years or thirty-five (35) years of service (whichever comes first), and on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
