Job Summary

  • We are currently looking for suitable and qualified applicants for the position of Document Control Officer to join our reputable organization
  • The Document Control Officer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and controlling documents, records, and files within the organization.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize, store, retrieve, and manage both electronic and paper documents.
  • Ensure documents are accurate, up-to-date, and properly distributed in line with company standards.
  • Maintain control over document versions and revisions to avoid confusion or use of outdated documents.
  • Ensure documents comply with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements.
  • Control access to documents, ensuring only authorized personnel can view or edit specific files.
  • Maintain logs, registers, and metadata for document tracking and auditing purposes.
  • Liaise with different departments to ensure timely document submission and approvals.
  • Properly archive old or obsolete documents in a secure and retrievable manner.
  • Assist or train staff on document control procedures and systems.
  • Generate reports related to document status, outstanding actions, and compliance issues.
  • Assigning numbers to project documents for easy identification, indexing & filling.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Office and Information Management/Office Technology Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2-5 years working experience as a document controller, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with document management systems.
  • Knowledge of document control procedures and regulations.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of documentation efficiently.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific documentation standards and processes.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Applicant must currently be residing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
