Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- Your role will involve overseeing financial operations in the State office, monitoring individual grant expenses in the field, and ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations and grant financial management policies.
- You will assist in implementing systems and controls that ensure funds accountability, thorough documentation, and accurate reporting.
- Conducting both offsite and on-site reviews of state office financial records and internal control systems will be part of your responsibilities.
- You’ll support the timely and accurate provision of periodic financial and management reports for the project.
- Maintaining an up-to-date financial system at the state office for data consolidation and reporting to the Central office will be crucial.
- Additionally, you will perform financial analysis and review detailed financial reports and statements.
Qualifications and Experience
- To be eligible, you should hold a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and be a member or part-certified in a professional association such as ICAN, ACCA, or an equivalent recognized body.
- A minimum of two years of experience in financial management, accounting, and administration, preferably with an international NGO that works with USG funding, will be advantageous.
- You should have a working knowledge of USG rules and regulations, including HSS grant policy, 45 CFR 75, A122, other donor regulations, and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Independence, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and the capacity to handle substantial responsibilities, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and exercise professional judgment are essential skills.
- Proficiency in Tally 9 ERP accounting software for reporting purposes, as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other computer-based applications, is expected.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively with program staff and stakeholders from different organizational backgrounds, are highly valued.
