Wadata Relief Care Initiative (WRCI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and humanitarian and Developmental organization that strives for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls and young people in Nigeria by promoting equitable governance and human rights. Established in 2018. WRCI started operations in 2019 and registered as a nonprofit making organization with Corporate Affairs Commission in 2023. In July 2009 the Boko haram insurgence began in the Northeast, and in 2011 the bandit Conflict in the Northwest escalated, the Federal Government announced interventions that affected the lives of the general population. To fight the insurgence/banditry to reduce its impact on the population, Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Nigeria collaborated to fight the insurgence’s menace. In 2018, WRCI launched activities to provide succour to people affected by the conflict and violence.

Job Title: Finance Assistant Intern

Location: Damaturu, Yobe

Role Overview

  • The Finance Assistant Intern will support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with budget tracking and reporting.
  • This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in financial administration within a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial documents and reports
  • Support the processing of payments, invoices, and receipts
  • Help maintain financial records and filing systems
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and petty cash management
  • Support internal audits and compliance checks
  • Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Must be based in Damaturu, Yobe State
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
