Job Summary

  • Drive Asset Products Development, enhancement and Market Research.
  • Implement and commericalise global standard Product program for Trade Working Capital Products in Nigeria.
  • Collaborate effectively with Small Medium Enterprise (SNME) Banking Sales and Relationship teams and Corporate Institutional Banking / Transaction Banking to leverage the eco-system and help deliver budgeted Balance Sheet and Net Fixed Income (NFI) targets
  • Execute global standard Product Optimization strategies to deliver Product level Return on Risk Weighted Asset (RoRWA)
  • Implement the integrated product segment strategy to launch/re-launch the program value proposition and specific enablers and track program performance.

Key Responsibilities
Product:

  • Drive Asset Products Development, enhancement and Market Research.
  • Implement and commericalise global standard Product program for Trade Working Capital Products in Nigeria.

  • Responsible for Carrying out all stress tests in the portfolio & Portfolio health on relevant products – delivery through regular engagement with Risk teams in country to track portfolio performance (through lead indicators) and taking necessary actions to ensure loan impairment is within approved and acceptable limits. Work closely with Portfolio Managers  to ensure the following:
  • Credit/ Business Monitoring; Managing overdue Business Credit Application / Credit Covenants Risk Triggers, turnover monitoring, etc
  • Excess management & follow-up for tracking closure of excess granted to the customers (approved & unapproved cases).
  • Daily credit and frontline engagement and Turn around time (TAT) tracking of all Business Banking credit applications.
  • Provide leadership, training and guidance to Business Banking Credit Analysts and Relationship team.
  • Support Relationship management with client calls and engagement.
  • Closely work with the Relationship Managers (RMs), Team Managers, Regional Branch Managers and Branch managers from the origination & play a vital role in deal structuring to add good value from a credit/policy perspective.
  • Work with the RMs, Area Heads and Branch Managers to facilitate revenue growth in the portfolio.

Product & Service Delivery:

  • Take ownership on end-to-end (standard) process to ensure execution of on-boarding for clients and fulfilment of products through engagement with relevant stakeholders involved in executing the standard process to ensure we deliver a seamless client Client Value Proposition (CVP)
  • Complaints & Client Experience: Collaborate closely with the Customer experience process & governance (CEPG) teams to Identify gaps and design failures in existing process and products and work with global and regional product teams to solve for endemic design issues to improve overall product and Service delivery

Product Launches & Product Maintenance:

  • Execute the global Product standardization and Product rationalization agenda for Trade working capital (TWC) Products in Nigeria
  • Work with segment and frontline teams to identify client needs and launch existing global product solutions to meet these needs. In the absence of existing global solutions work with the regional team to have the relevant proposition developed as a global solution for implementation

Sales & Service Management:

  • Achieve Business Clients’ segment target growth of Revenues, Assets, Liabilities & profits
  • Ensure that the sales and distribution strategy is aligned with the Group model

Strategy:

  • Support Implementation of new TWC projects/Products (i.e. approved enhancements across all products)
  • Research local and global trends to improve service and product offerings to clients
  • Monitor competition and keep abreast of the product offerings/service developments
  • Partner with Stakeholders to enhance TWC products and service synergy/enable improved services and deliverables.
  • Identify business/improvements opportunities.
  • Proactive stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide pro active help and tools to run SME business.
  • Achieve the revenue, balance sheet, and operating profit targets agreed in the annual budget, and establish the fundamentals for the longer term performance of the business.
  • Monitor competition and keep abreast of the Business Banking Segment offerings.

Processes:

  • Manage SME Trade Working Capital products, system and operating instructions to ensure seamless retrieval and safe keeping
  • Partner with Country Innovation & Technology Operations (ITO)  , Operations, Procurement, Segment and Finance Teams on service level management.
  • Recommend improvements in operational processes, procedures and products based on monitoring of customer feedback to ensure constant enhancement of service levels and efficiency.

People & Talent:

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.  Set appropriate tone and expectations from my team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners including all Stakeholders.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of the frontline sales team, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives and provide feedback to my direct line manager in line with performance against my responsibilities and objectives.

Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with the process for bid submission.
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them
  • The ability to interpret the Group’s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures
  • Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility

  • Participate and contribute to other Post Disbursement Credit Monitoring and Balance Sheet optimization activities like Covenant and Risk Triggers (CaRTs) closure, Utilization of Approved Limits, facility structuring, etc
  • Work with RM/Team Leads/product partners in structuring credit solutions for the clients and ensuring the appropriateness of the products.
  • Responsible for end-to-end BCA process including preparing all the tools like Loan Application Tool (LAT), Environmental Social Risk Assessment, De-dupes, Credit discussions, Scorecard, etc, in-depth analysis of various risks, quality presentation and ensuring fast credit approval.
  • Ensure compliance of all internal and regulatory credit/other portfolio related policies e.g. input during CCAD preparation, other special reporting requirements, etc.
  • Annual review of credit facilities
  • Liaise with Credit on BCA and other credit issues and ensure quick turnaround on all queries.
  • In partnership with the RM, ensure timely identification of accounts to be put in SAM as per the bank’s policies and guidelines.
  • Effective use of Creditmate and other analysis tools
  • Oversight role for training and directing the frontline as well as fellow colleagues.
  • Promptly carry out Interim BCA reviews and amendments as the business demands
  • Ensure Zero BCA overdue and extensions not breaching the required threshold.
  • Proper maintenance of Credit files and always ensuring Audit Readiness
  • Ensure Covenants and risk triggers (CaRTs) are properly set to track identified key Risks and close CaRTs in a timely manner.
  • Make inputs into the Remediation Strategy set by RMs for accounts on SAM and other accounts showing signs of stress.
  • Work with RMs & Monitoring officer in reviewing regional credit reports i.e. Significant exposure reports.
