Job Title: Fund Accountant
Location: Lekki, Lagos
Position Type: Full-Time
Responsibilities
- Perform timely and accurate reconciliation of various fund assets, including securities, cash, and derivatives, to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Post transactions with precision, ensuring that all financial activities are accurately recorded in the system, including investments, trades, redemptions, and transfers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to verify trades and investment valuations, ensuring they align with market prices, dividends, interest, and other income.
- Generate and analyze financial reports to provide insights into fund performance, liquidity, and investment composition.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, fund audits, and regulatory filings in compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and maintain the highest levels of accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with fund managers and investment teams to provide accurate and timely information for decision-making and portfolio management.
- Take up other task that may be assigned to you by your line manager and as the business may require for efficient service delivery and in order to maintain sanity in our processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CFA, ICAN) is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in fund accounting or related financial roles within the asset management industry.
- Strong understanding of investment products, financial markets, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment.
