Title: General Ledger Accountant

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job type: Full-time

Purpose / Role

  • Main purpose of this role is to ensure the General ledger lines across the EnG is well secured, processed in the system and monitored based on the best practices and company’s policies and procedures.

Key Aims and Objectives

  • To ensure timely posting of invoices for all Purchase Order invoices
  • To correctly report all General ledger lines
  • Review best practices that can support continuous process improvements.
  • Prime responsibilities and duties
  • Posting of Supplier Invoices with Purchase Order.
  • Island Allowance Reconciliation and posting into the system.
  • Posting of Food Promotion into the system
  • Updating the FX on NAV and Clearing Open Market Vendor’s account.
  • Booking of all Foreign Vendors invoices and Posting of Expatiate Tax.
  • Posting Accruals relating to Audit Fees/Legal fees/Store Opening fees/Electricity/Refuse disposal/Telephone and preparing accrual monthly report.
  • Posting of Fuel Usage for the month.
  • Monitors and reports changes in Maintenance GL Lines.
  • Ensures Direct Cost Applied and Purchases tallies.
  • Monitors Sales and Food promo/Accruals/Provisions GL Lines.

Other duties:

  • Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

Reports:

  • Island Allowance Reconciliation Report
  • Landing Cost report

Qualifications
Experience / Education Required

  • 3 years’ experience in the field; preferably QSR (Quick service restaurant)
  • Certified accountant by ACA/ACCA/ICAN or in the final stage of certification
  • Proficiency in Excel; Dynamics Navision is an advantage
  • High Integrity, utmost confidentiality level
  • Good analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with expert knowledge of (GAAP) accounting procedures and financial reporting practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to summarize and present complex financial data in an organized, concise manner
  • Independent, mature, self-initiative and possesses positive attitude

Ability to:

  • Make decisions and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Demonstrated self-starter and problem solver with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines and at the same time deliver time results and reports.
  • Team player and fast worker
