Title: Head of Compliance

Location: Ogba  – Ikeja, Lagos

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Individually accountable for establishing a comprehensive compliance framework, including Risk Management and Monitoring plans. Initiates and facilitates corrective actions when necessary.
• Embeds compliance practices within the designated areas of responsibility.
• Ensures compliance within the area by implementing compliance risk management and monitoring plans.
• Reports compliance breaches to management.
• Facilitates the resolution of compliance breaches.
• Assists in mitigating compliance risks.
• Holds responsibility for compliance in a less complex business unit and reports to the business head, receiving strategic direction from the Compliance Executive.
• Exercises influence primarily within a specific assigned functional area.

Compliance:

• Ensures compliance within the designated area by implementing compliance risk management and monitoring plans.
• Reports compliance breaches to management.
• Facilitates the resolution of compliance breaches.
• Assists in mitigating compliance risks.
• Applies limited legislation, and the impact of this legislation on the business unit/functional area is minimal.
• Assists the Executive in effectively coordinating and executing quarterly audits, risk assessments, and compliance activities for the segment.
• Identifies and escalates challenges (within the defined escalation framework) as appropriate.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to safely and effectively perform essential job functions.
• Punctual and regular attendance is required.
• Capable of clear and effective telephone communication, including listening and speaking.
