The Role
- As we expand our operations in Nigeria, we seek a highly skilled, experienced and motivated Finance Manager to lead our finance function in Nigeria.
- This is a strategic and hands-on role that requires a seasoned professional to oversee all accounting, reporting, tax and regulatory activities while contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.

Accounting & Financial Management:
- Manage monthly financial close processes, ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements.
- Manage company’s end-to-end accounting books i.e. record to report cycle.
- Perform month-end financial close processes and prepare financials.
- Prepare the annual budget and maintain a rolling cash flow forecast.
- Prepare financial analyses, reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Monitor, analyze and control budgets across various business functions.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and manage the annual audit process with external auditors.
- Manage the working capital cycle.
- Manage bank payments.
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies in finance function.
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:
- Requiring a comprehensive understanding of Nigerian tax regulations including VAT, CIT, PAYE, WHT and other statutory obligations, is essential.
- File and manage tax returns and maintain compliance with Nigeria’s regulatory bodies, such as the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
- Oversee and coordinate all VAT and tax return filings.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation, advising the company on potential impacts and strategies for compliance.
Manage Fin.Ops Function:
- Review daily payments reconciliations and ensure processes are in place to perform accurate and timely settlements.
- Proactively identify and resolve reconciliation gaps and exceptions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for FinOps related inquiries, providing clarity and resolution to stakeholders.
- Independently lead and drive projects and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency across the organization.
Financial Leadership:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Business Development and Operations on various company wide matters.
- Collaborate with the Headoffice team and on day-to-day matters and special projects as needed.
- Own the market P&L and work with the CFO to identify areas of revenue accretion and cost optimization to run a profitable business
Team Development & Management:
- Build, mentor and lead a high-performing Finance and Fin.Ops team in Nigeria.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to team members.
- Set performance objectives and conduct reviews for accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements
- CPA, ACCA, or ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) qualification is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with an ERP (especially Oracle) is a significant advantage.
- Having Treasury experience, especially around cross border settlements is a plus.
- Proficient in Google workspace tools like Google Drive, Sheets, Slides and Dox.
- Strong business communication and interpersonal communication.
- Demonstrates flexibility and agility in responding to dynamic business needs.
- Experience in the payments industry, fintech or startup environment is a plus.
