Job Title: Hotel Receptionist
Location: Ikotun, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a professional, welcoming atmosphere
- Handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately
- Manage room reservations and respond to booking inquiries (phone, email, or walk-in)
- Provide guests with information about hotel services, local attractions, and transportation
- Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns promptly and politely
- Maintain accurate guest records and update the hotel’s reservation system
- Process payments and issue receipts using the POS or hotel software
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, emails, and phone calls
- Coordinate with housekeeping, security, and other departments to meet guest needs
- Ensure the reception area is clean, tidy, and presentable at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a hotel receptionist, front desk officer, or similar role preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel management systems (e.g., Opera, Cloudbeds, etc.)
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC; diploma or certification in hospitality is an advantage with 2 – 4 years work experience.
- Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus
- Familiarity with cash handling and POS systems
