Job Description
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Officer to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance in our manufacturing facility.
- The ideal candidate must have a strong background in workplace safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance, with proven experience interfacing with regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies and procedures in line with local and international standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and workplace inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., NESREA, LASEPA, OSHA, etc.).
- Investigate workplace accidents/incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and conduct HSE training sessions for employees to promote a culture of safety.
- Monitor waste management, pollution control, and environmental sustainability practices.
- Maintain HSE records and documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with safety protocols.
- Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an HSE Officer in a manufacturing company.
- Strong experience in interfacing with regulatory bodies and ensuring compliance with their requirements.
- Professional HSE certifications
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety laws, risk assessment, and emergency response procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
