Job Title: HSE Officer

Job Summary
- The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe and legally compliant workplace.
- They play a critical role in promoting a culture of safety, identifying hazards, and implementing preventive measures to minimize risks to people, property, and the environment.
- The HSE Officer also develops policies, conducts training, and monitors operational activities to ensure compliance with local and international safety standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensures that all HSE standards are implemented and maintained throughout all its operations
- Audits HSE operations to ensure that standards are being set and maintained
- Defines, develops, and facilitates implementation of required HSE plans (e.g., environmental, and socio-economic impact assessments, safety management plans, health management plans, fire response, crisis management, etc).
- Works with contractors to promote HSE performance in accordance with MTNL expectations.
- Facilitates project/function implementation of other regulatory requirements by providing clarification, consultation, and liaison services.
- Provides support to projects and advice on areas for improvement Participates in project reviews and site audits to assess HSE risks and regulatory compliance processes and implementation of risk mitigation measures.
- Identifies and institutes HSE and First Aid training courses as required.
- Implements and maintains HSE statistical records as detailed in the HSE Procedure.
- Createsafety plans that include suggested improvements to existing infrastructure and business processes.
- Shareinformation, suggestions, and observations with project leadership to create consistency in safety standards throughout the production team and the entire company
- Meeting company health and safety goals
- Inspecteproduction equipment and processes to make sure they are safe
- Reviewand reportstaff’s compliance with health and safety rules and recommending commendations or dismissal based on performance
- Executes other duties as may be assigned by the HSE Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- HND / B.Sc. degree in Ocupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 3 years working with international HSE standards, codes and practices,regulations and industry practices.
- Membership of relevant HSE professional bodies
- Attention to details & strong analytical/problem solving abilities.
- Ability to work independetly and part of a team.
- Experience in the Oil&Gas preferred.
