Job Title: Human Resources (HR) Assistant – NYSC Intern
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Internship
Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and preparing employee documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including attendance, leave, and performance data.
- Support payroll preparation and processing activities.
- Organize and manage employee training and development programs.
- Address employee queries regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Assist in organizing company events and team-building activities.
- Perform other administrative tasks as required.
- Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources Manager
- Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies)
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc)
- Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc) and take minutes
- Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc)
- Communicate with public services when necessary
- Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures
- Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews
- Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees
- Assist our recruiters to source candidates and update our database.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or any relevant discipline;
- MUST have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC) as at date of application.
- At least 0-1 yearof experience in an HR or administrative role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Skills & Experience:
- Able to quickly assimilate new technical knowledge and interested in building a career with a growth-oriented company.
- Solid organizational and planning skills.
- Good command of English.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to promote a technical solution as a value-for-money exercise
- Computer literacy, especially with regard to modern scientific user interfaces, document and presentation preparation and report writing
- An understanding of business management systems, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and knowledge of a CRM tool is an asset
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.
