Job Summary & Purpose

  • The role of the Human Resource (HR) Manager is to lead the organization in all matters related to Human Resources and ensure that the company’s vision, mission, culture, values, and policies are embraced by all employees.

Major Responsibilities

Recruitment and Selection:

  • Develop and implement an effective recruitment process.
  • Offer support to departments in planning their recruitment needs.
  • Assist departments in crafting job specifications.
  • Advertise job vacancies.
  • Conduct initial screening interviews to shortlist candidates.
  • Negotiate remuneration packages with potential hires.
  • Issue offer letters to selected candidates.

HR Management:

  • Assist in establishing a strong HR foundation for the organization.
  • Handle both physical and digital copies of employee records.
  • Manage and recommend an efficient internal learning and development process while minimizing costs.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
  • Act as a bridge between the organization’s management and employees, addressing employee demands, grievances, and potential issues.
  • Assist departments in designing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with performance targets and job descriptions.
  • Support the creation of processes to track performance.
  • Propose methods to reward high-performing employees.
  • Assist managers in improving the performance of underperforming employees through Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
  • Maintain the compensation and benefits program.
  • Provide weekly performance reports to the Managing Director.

Policy Enforcement:

  • Collaborate with the CEO to design and implement company policies.
  • Monitor staff to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Address and provide warnings to staff members not adhering to company policies.

Requirements

Candidates should have Bachelor’s Degrees with at least 2 years of relevant work experience. Age: 27 – 40 years.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in HR administration and people management.
  • Hands-on experience with HR software (HRIS, ATS).
  • Familiarity with office management software, particularly MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word).
  • Strong organizational skills and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
  • Experience with various compensation and non-monetary benefits.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Possesses a positive, collaborative, and constructive attitude towards people and work.
  • Adaptability to change and ability to manage complexities.
  • Effective multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.

Salary

  • Monthly Salary: N150,000 – N180,000.
