Job Title: Internal Auditor

Job Description

• The Auditor will be responsible for conducting independent and objective assessments of financial transactions, operational processes, and internal controls within the eatery.
• The role ensures compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and best practices to safeguard assets, detect irregularities, and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities
Financial Audits:

• Review daily sales records, invoices, and payment receipts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Cross-check bank deposits against cash/point-of-sale (POS) transactions.
• Verify supplier payments, petty cash usage, and expense claims.

Inventory Audits:

• Conduct regular stock counts for food items, beverages, and packaging materials.
• Reconcile physical stock with records to identify discrepancies.
• Monitor wastage, spoilage, and theft prevention measures.

Operational Compliance:

• Assess adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) in food preparation, hygiene, and customer service.
• Evaluate compliance with health and safety regulations.

Internal Controls:

• Identify weaknesses in processes and recommend corrective actions.
• Implement systems to prevent fraud, loss, and inefficiency.

Reporting:

• Prepare clear and detailed audit reports for management.
• Highlight risks, irregularities, and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ANAN) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in auditing, preferably in the hospitality, retail, or food service industry.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and integrity.
• Good communication and report-writing skills.

Working Conditions:

• On-site presence required.
