Job Summary:

  • We are actively seeking a skilled and dedicated IT Officer to become a valuable member of our IT team. The IT Officer’s role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and security of our company’s IT infrastructure, as well as providing essential technical support to our end-users. The ideal candidate will possess a solid IT background, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to resolving IT challenges.

Responsibilities:

System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform routine maintenance on computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure to maintain peak performance.
  • Quickly diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Monitor system logs and security alerts to detect and address potential vulnerabilities.

Technical Support:

  • Deliver technical support to end-users, both remotely and on-site.
  • Assist employees in resolving IT-related problems, encompassing hardware and software issues.
  • Create and manage user accounts and access permissions.

Network Management:

  • Configure and sustain network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and ensure a secure and stable network environment.
  • Enforce and oversee network security protocols and policies.

Software and Hardware Procurement:

  • Assist in the procurement of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades or replacements as necessary.

Data Backup and Recovery:

  • Implement and uphold data backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical company data.
  • Regularly test data recovery processes to ensure their reliability.

Cybersecurity:

  • Monitor for security breaches and proactively take measures to shield the organization from cyber threats.
  • Stay current on cybersecurity best practices and implement security policies.

Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Generate user guides and manuals to support employees in IT-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking systems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and office productivity software.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
