1). Junior Production Assistant (Kitchen Assistant)

The Role
- We’re looking to hire Junior Production Assistants (Kitchen Assistants) to work as part of our Food Production Team.
- This role assisting chefs during prep, provides support on procurement and inventory activities, and ensures that the food production facility is & hygiene maintenance.

Responsibilities
As a Junior Production Assistant, your role will include key responsibilities such as:
- Support inventory control activities; properly count and weigh all ingredients in the storage.
- Ensure store rooms and chillers are properly organized
- Collaborate with the cleaners to maintain high hygiene practices daily.
- Collaborate with team members to support cleaning on scheduled deep cleaning days – (Clearing of refrigerators, freezers, and pantries)
- Report and record notable food waste (bad and damaged food ingredients) in real time on the bad and damaged tracker
- Support procurement by receiving produce delivered by suppliers, and ensure proper storage of items, according to Eden standards
- Responsible for pre-prep duties such as;
- Washing & cutting of ingredients as required and instructed by the prep unit lead or station lead
- Weighs out produce or protein to exact requirements
- Provide general support as needed to ensure a smooth food production process at all times.
Requirements
- Possess at least a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE); OND qualification
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be great at time management, to ensure tasks are concluded within the expected timeframe
- High attention to details.
- Proven experience assisting in kitchens is a plus; must demonstrate good knowledge of the job description and what is required.
- Good basic knowledge of food health and safety standards and practices.
- Effective communication skills (timely and proactive).
Work Schedule and Remuneration
- You will be required to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week, and a maximum of 5 (which can fall on Saturday or Sunday) as rotated.
- You can be scheduled to work either in the Day or Night Shift.
- Payment is flexible and is made at the end of week or month (depending on when you want). A payment of N3,500 is made for each shift.

2). Production Associate (Demi Chef De Partie)

Responsibilities
As a Production Associate, you are responsible for daily food preparation (prep & cook) according to the set standard and qualities. Your role will include key responsibilities such as:
- Support the Production Coordinator (Chef de Partie) or Assistant Production Managers (Sous Chef) in the daily food production (cooking).
- Produce meals according to the recipe/menu specifications enforced by the Production Coordinator, and defined by the Production Manager (Head Chef) and Assistant Production Managers
- Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to standard hygiene practices and rules defined
- Prepare the daily mis en place (as required) and food production in different stations, or for general food production
- Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate superiors to complete the daily tasks
- Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes, and preparation techniques, in the food industry, and as used in the Eden Food Production Facility
- Instruct and lead Junior Production team members through their daily requirements in food preparation
- Receive deliveries and verify that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality (as required)
- Assist in taking inventory of supplies and notify inventory unit of low or depleted supplies as required.
- Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage, and cost control
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a smooth and friendly work environment
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Production Managers, Production Managers, and Food Production Lead.
Requirements
- Level 1 Food Safety Certificates
- 6 months – 1 year experience in the food industry as Commis or higher
- A culinary school diploma or certificate is a plus!
- Professional kitchen apprenticeship or training course a plus
- Effective communication: ability to communicate well in spoken and written English
- Team supervision: ability to effectively supervise junior food production team members, and general operations
- Team player qualities; You are a very positive, dynamic, creative, and dedicated team player
- Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes

3). Food Product Research Associate

Job Description
- Eden is looking to hire a Food Product Research Associate to create and develop new food products & improve on existing food products that align with the company’s goals through proper planning and strategies.
- The Food Product Research and Development unit is responsible for conducting research on new & existing food products, creating menu, testing and standardizing recipe tests.
- Is also responsible for training the team on recipes, cooking techniques & procedures. Our goal is to ensure that these products meet the required food safety and regulatory standards and provide quality food experiences for our customers.
- The Food Product Research Associate makes sure the R&D unit is properly set up to accomplish daily goals, provides strong documentation support, and supports all R&D activities to ensure the accomplishment of these set goals.
Job Responsibilities
As a Product Research Associate, you will perform the following duties:
- Support General Food Research & Development Activities:
- Work directly with the Food R&D lead to create product development strategies that meet our guidelines (cost, ingredients, caloric/nutritional, time constraints, and operational complexity)
- Conduct periodic competitive and consumer trend analysis to inform future product development
- Provide Support on Food Quality Assurance and Supervision:
- Work with the Production team to execute new recipes as well as implement improvements to existing recipes (i.e., proper production techniques for all meals)
- Ensure all finished food products meet specifications
- Collaborate with Procurement and Operations:
- Work with procurement to ensure the best quality ingredients are used while minimizing food costs
- Address and eliminate product quality issues/customer complaints arising from problems originating with the ingredients involved in the production of meals and/or the final product
- Evaluate Customer Feedback and Be A Team Player:
- Analyze customer feedback on meals and incorporate feedback into new dishes, or improve existing dishes
- Receive extensive and honest feedback on meal accessibility and flavors and incorporate into new dish ideation
- Attend and participate in weekly culinary meetings including weekly R&D tastings, weekly meal quality rating reviews, and team check-ins
- Collaborate with other chefs to improve and test each other’s dishes.
Job Requirements
- Culinary School coursework or relevant experience is a plus.
- A Degree in Food Science with focus on R & D is an added bonus
- Strong research background
- A passion for staying up to speed on the most current research on the science of nutrition & R & D.
- Basic understanding of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen safety practices.
