1). Female Early Years Teaching Assistant

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Purpose of the Job

  • To work under the instruction/guidance of teaching staff to undertake work/care/support programs, to enable access to learning for pupils, and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom as well as be able to work independently in the absence of the main staff.

Essential Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • Minimum Qualification required is a degree B.Ed/BA/PGDE, gained from a reputable Institution plus a Diploma/Certificate in Montessori Education
  • Minimum 3 Years relevant experience of working with children aged 2- 4 in a paid capacity as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant within an Early Years setting
  • Must be resident in Ibadan and be able to easily commute to Jericho, Ibadan
  • Knowledge of relevant policies and teaching codes of practice
  • Must have excellent English Language skills (clear written, reading and spoken)
  • Excellent English and Mathematics skills
  • Creative skills such as music, dance, drama, art and crafts are a must
  • Must have effective classroom management and teaching skills as well as evidence of such
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning – including relevant equipment/resources e.g. technology, video etc
  • Exceptional IT skills including the following: internet, e-mail, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to relate exceptionally well with children and adults
  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles & responsibilities and your own position within these
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning with a positive approach and a commitment to the provision of high-quality childcare
  • Enthusiasm for working with children and passion for promoting purposeful learning
  • Ability to build a good rapport with children, parents, staff and other professionals
  • Have the ability to enthusiastically and loyally promote the school’s vision through behavior, words, and actions
  • Be able to take individual and collective professional responsibility for championing the school’s policies and procedures
  • Understanding of health and safety and welfare issues within a childcare environment
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Professionally presented, self-confident and smartly dressed at all times.

2). Female Nursery Teacher

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Description

  • As our Early Years Educator, you will be required to work with children in our Nursery 1 & 2

Qualification, Experience and Skills Required

  • The minimum qualification required is (B.Ed / PGDE) in English / Early Childhood Education gained from a reputable university; plus a diploma or certificate in Montessori Education
  • Minimum 3 years post qualification experience and understanding of the British Curriculum gained from working in a similar role
  • Must be resident in Ibadan and be able to easily commute to Jericho, Ibadan
  • Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of systematic synthetic phonics
  • Be able to teach early mathematics and literacy with clear understanding of appropriate teaching strategies
  • Knowledge, understanding and use of Cursive Handwriting scheme is an added advantage
  • Creative skills such as music, dance, drama, art and crafts are a MUST
  • You MUST have excellent English Language skills (clear written, reading and spoken)
  • Be confident in using ICT and media to support your work and the children’s learning.
  • Effective classroom management and teaching skills as well as evidence of such
  • You should be enthusiastic and confident in your abilities to engage children and extend their learning through play, enabling their emotional, social and educational development.
  • Be enthusiastic innovative, creative and dynamic in delivering lesson plans that meet the needs of all children
  • Be able to produce stimulating classroom and outdoor learning environments that promote independent learning
  • To complement your qualification and experience, you will come with patience, good sense of humour and great stamina to keep up with the needs and energy of young, lively children.
  • Have an appreciation of the importance of safeguarding in educational settings
  • You will be expected to demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct
