Job Title: Junior Human Resource Generalist

Job Summary
- We are seeking a Junior HR Generalistto support our HR operations in a fast-paced construction environment.
- The ideal candidate will assist in recruitment, employee relations, payroll processing, training, and compliance with labor laws and safety regulations.
- This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with site and office staff.
Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Assist in sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for construction and office roles.
- Coordinate onboarding processes, including document verification and induction training.
- Ensure new hires receive safety training and orientation on company policies.
Employee Relations & Welfare:
- Address employee queries regarding policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
- Support in handling disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Promote employee welfare initiatives, including site safety and well-being programs.
HR Administration & Payroll Support:
- Maintain and update employee records in HR databases.
- Assist in processing payroll, leave management, and attendance tracking.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws, pension, and tax regulations.
Training & Development:
- Support training programs for site workers and office staff.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety training requirements.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure HR policies align with construction industry regulations and labor laws.
- Assist in audits and compliance checks related to employee documentation.
- Prepare HR reports on workforce, absenteeism, and employee turnover.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 1 – 2 years of HR experience, preferably in construction, real estate, or manufacturing.
- Experience working with *construction workers, artisans, and site-based staff*.
- Understanding of *safety regulations and compliance in construction*.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM) is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
