Job Description

  • Head PMO Lead will be responsible managing business needs, requirements, mapping capabilities within the IT domains and delivery of those needs on time, to budget and at agreed quality levels.
  • The holder of this role shall collaborate with Smartcash IT team and partners performing the necessary analysis and design tasks related to the delivery of projects relevant to Smartcash transformation program.
  • The Head PMO Lead will be reporting to Head of IT/Chief Information Officer and will be responsible for overall changes, upgrade of all Business Systems application operation across multiple within the Smartcash business organization.

Responsibilities
Managing Smartcash Projects & Delivery:

  • Responsible for management of Smartcash project portfolio
  • Track the delivery – ensure all project delivery milestones are met – Own and Drive
  • Project stakeholder management, proactive monitoring and escalation

Maintaining and Supporting SmartCash Applications:

  • Ensuring Business Value creation through Business/Enterprise application effectiveness, simplifying customer experience and efficient deliveries.
  • Optimizing Change requirement delivery for faster time to market and ensuring first time right efficiency.
  • Making Critical decisions and Leading critical delivery that attribute to the success of Smartcash business by collaborating with cross functional teams

Handling Change Requests:

  • Requirements – Collect Complete, accurate information and with details required, engage all key stakeholders, ask all required questions for clarity on problem and solution needed (Raising CR is not a tick box).
  • Perform Initial Impact Assessment – detailed understanding of the problem statement and high-level solution view and options – share details of all systems that are to be impacted, including possible increase load in the systems, user stories, reports, connectivity required etc.
  • Identify all key dependencies and risks – and know to manage them.
  • Understand how the solution will look like – Have view on what to be proposed solutions – How the problem solved or opportunity will be reached.
  • Take and keep notes of all discussions gathered before raising the CR and have all put on the CR documents.
  • Follow up – Get CR number within SLA and initial discussion of solution with SMEs and delivery technical leads.

Managing SME:

  • Manage different SME in various domain to ensure they achieve their deliverables to drive organizational goals i.e. Manage core six (6) domains.
  • Ensure that SME’s adequately capture and translate business requirements.
  • Ensure that SME’s conduct and complete their UAT within predefined timelines.

Partner Relationship & OPCO Service Delivery:

  • Managing partner(s) and ensuring service delivery to agreed quality and SLA.
  • Ensuring value delivery to Smartcash by maintaining oversight of related managed services.
  • Ensuring continuous alignment of IT actions with Business Imperatives.

Requirements
Educational Qualifications:

  • MSc / Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis or a related study.
  • Experience working in multi-vendor managed service IT operating model.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with senior level on resolving and presenting business problems
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering large and complex IT projects.
  • Experience with Waterfall (PMP/Prince2) and agile development methodologies is preferable

Relevant Experience & Functional / Technical Skills:

  • 10-15 years of work experience on project management with relevant experience in Telecommunications/Financial Services/Fintech/Information Technology sectors.

  • To act as the representative for business, technical and other functional requirements in Packet Core solutions to support Mobile Data services.
  • The function will define the optimal topology of the packet core network to meet premium service level agreements and industry architecture for next generation Packet switched networks;

Responsibilities
PS Core Planning and Architecture:

  • Analyze business requirements and processes before converting ideas into technical solution; where required, research into new technology/features in Telecommunication industry with regards to Mobile Data services.
  • Liaise with partner teams, Airtel HQ and other departments to assure optimal data network architecture adapted to local traffic profile, implementation and deployment of key networks systems through the full delivery life cycle from initial design to full operational handover.
  • Ensure projects are aligned with the Annual Operating Program (AOP) specifications
  • Ensure all nodes within the Packet core network are functioning as per the business and network requirements.
  • Provide a pathway towards evolving PS Core network in line with 3GPP Roadmap

  • Coordinate and review Vendordocumentation in the form of SD,  HLD and LLD designs prepared to include technical functionality, platform design and platform integration with relevant network elements.
  • Prepare and update network designs to reflect most recent changes in Network architecture/capacity

Capacity planning and Optimization:

  • Perform adequate dimensioning of all Packet Core Nodes and add-on solutions – in accordance with network growth and business projections.
  • Continuously monitor network traffic, licenses, trends and various parameters to ensure the Network elements are operating as expected. Where required, take corrective action with input from Operations and performance teams.
  • Effective understanding of Operational and Business support systems (OSS/BSS) for performance reporting, Key performance indicator (KPI) monitoring and tuning for effective end to end planning of data services.
  • Periodical audit and optimization of Product-related configurations on the Deep Packet inspection (DPI) node to avoid data fraud and over/undercharging of data services
  • Periodically revise and optimize signaling traffic towards charging system and other peer nodes

Expand & Evolve Core Network:

  • Understand the business requirements and impact on data network infrastructure.
