1). Vendor Contract & Performance Specialist

Location: Lagos

Job Objective(s)

  • Responsible for the coordination of the Vendor On-Boarding and Vendor Lifecycle Management process
  • Provide support and guidance to the internal Business Units on the processes required to bring new suppliers onto the FirstBank Approved Supplier List/First Bank Registration process
  • Conduct and track the Vendor Performance on regular basis and as required
  • Act as administrator for Contract Lifecycle Management – contract templates, contract upload, database management, access control, renewal/expiry management and archival.
  • Drive supplier and third-party risk management practice – supplier risk assessment, monitoring and remediation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the progress of each vendor engagement by ensuring that Business Units are following the correct procedures and providing advice and guidance as required
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and communication and relationship management skills
  • Understand Procurement policies, Governance Frameworks and Charters
  • Implement, Track and Report on Vendor Performance to capture performance and improvement.
  • Proactively seek and build continuous and meaningful engagements with the Business Units and Vendors to shape services and improve value delivered from the supply chain
  • Support the creation, and implementation of strategies to ensure that ‘customer focus’ is paramount
  • Maintaining a large electronic contracts data base with expiry dates and key terms, and providing timely notification of expiring contracts to the Category Managers
  • Create and maintain electronic records of executed vendor contract documents
  • Developing performance indicators and Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) for vendors etc.
  • Collaborate with Category Managers to evaluate and monitor contracts/Service Level Agreement to ensure vendors comply with contractual terms and conditions
  • Understand the ways to drive and measure value from vendors
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders in developing vendor contracts
  • Ensuring adequate performance management, vendor rationalization, sanctioning/conflict management, vendor onboarding,
  • Regular review of the vendor database – supplier base optimization, supplier segmentation; monitoring regulatory requirements, and compliance.
  • Meet the requirement for procurement professional certification [Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS)]

Job Requirements
Education:

  • Minimum Education: A good First Degree in any discipline from a reputable institution.

Experience:

2). Head of Hub

Location: Rivers

Job Description

  • Supervise activities of front office, middle office and back office staff to ensure timely and efficient service delivery to Private Banking clients.
  • Oversee and ensure the flow of client’s transactions and investments portfolio is in accordance with client’s mandate.
  • Promote the education of clients in the wealth management space, providing personal financial advisory services that enhance the investment decisions.
  • Review client profiles to ensure investments are in accordance with mandates, risk profiles and risk appetites.
  • Promote the sales and services culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation.
  • Actively participate in the development of budgets and target as they relate the Private Banking business and ensure achievement of monthly and annual targets.
  • Authorize capital and current expenditure for the Hub.
  • Ensure Hub operating cost is within approved budget.
  • Ensure zero tolerance for inactive/dormant accounts.

Requirements
Education:

  • Minimum of 2:2 Undergraduate Degree.
  • Preference for postgraduate business or related degree or other professional qualification.
  • Training in Portfolio Management and Asset Allocation
  • Training in Customer Profiling and Risk Assessments

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years working experience in banking or a related industry.
  • Previous experience in Asset & Wealth Management or Investment Banking is an advantage.

3). Team Lead, Skills & Competency Development

Job Objective(s)

  • Promote the closure of identified employee competency gaps via the proper identification of learning needs and the planning/preparation and roll-out of appropriate learning interventions
  • Support the planning and development of a robust competency-based blended learning curriculum for FirstAcademy Schools, as well as all other Job Families and/or banking competency areas.
  • Contribute towards entrenching the desired bank-wide learning culture, through the institution of blended learning methodologies and a well-established knowledge management framework

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design and development of competency-based learning curricula for designated FirstBank Departments/Business Units and/or Job Families and offer expertise in the (periodic) update of the FirstAcademy Schools’ Curriculum.
  • Spearhead proactive consultations with line managers and business unit heads with a view to translating business requirements and strategies into competency imperatives
  • Anchor the periodic (quarterly) preparation and roll-out of the bank-wide Training Schedule/Plan and Budgets, albeit excluding programmes run within the FirstAcademy multi-level Schools
  • Oversee the treatment of approved adhoc instructor-led training requests – both foreign and local.
  • Work closely with the Faculty Deans in designing best-fit training assessment methods (especially Training Impact Assessment – KP3) necessary to drive the achievement of desired learning outcomes and follow through on their implementation
  • Report periodically on the business impact (i.e. the measure of training effectiveness as well as the Return on Investments) of training programmes through the Head, FirstAcademy to the Head, HCMD and FirstAcademy Governing Council.
  • Facilitate the rollout of Inter-Departmental training programmes in line with approved Learning Management Policies and Procedures
  • Partake in Training Vendor Accreditation processes and actively manage relationships with FirstBank Accredited Training Partners
  • Act as a ‘trusted advisor’ and ‘business partner’ in offering proactive learning advisory services to staff as part of a holistic Talent Development Framework
  • Work closely with the Head, FirstAcademy in proposing new policies on learning/teaching for Management approval.
  • As part of the Bank’s Information Security requirements, maintain the security of all Information entrusted to the staff and comply with the principles and policies in the Information Security Handbook
  • Facilitate and champion organization-wide knowledge sharing, so that the organization’s know-how, information and experience is captured, retained and shared within; as well as outside the organization with clients, partners, and stakeholders (as appropriate)
  • As part of the Bank’s Information Security requirements, maintain the security of all Information entrusted to the staff and comply with the principles and policies in the Information Security Handbook

  • Designed as a 24-month fast-track comprehensive developmental programme, this initiative is targeted at young, dynamic, self-motivated and highly driven individuals who possess acute thinking skills, financial and methodical skills, as well as distinctive ability to communicate effectively and synthesize ideas, information and data to aid decision making.
  • We therefore solicit applications from the eligible internal candidates who are willing to take advantage of this window of opportunity to fast-track their career and be part of the next generation of leaders of our iconic institution.  Such individuals must be between BA & SBO grades and possess the right skills set and excellent leadership potential.
  • Upon completion of the programme, successful candidates (Management Associates) will be promoted to Assistant Manager grade, irrespective of their grades at the point of entry.  Such individuals will be tagged as High-Potential staff (HiPos) in the Bank and will enjoy regular promotion subject to consistent high performance ratings in the yearly appraisal exercise.

External Qualification

  • Not more than 30 years old
  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in a structured organization, preferably financial services sector or global consulting firm
  • Minimum of Second Class Upper division in any discipline from a recognised University
  • In addition to the above, candidates must have a post-graduate degree (minimum Master’s degree) from a reputable university; OR
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, CFA.

5). Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) Officer

  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to direct the Bank’s environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) matters.
  • Conduct due diligence, monitor credit portfolios, provide technical advice and reporting towards the actualization of the ESG goals.

Deliverables

  • Design, develop, implement and monitor ESG plans, frameworks, projects and targets.
  • Provide guidance and advisory to internal stakeholders on sustainability initiatives, impacts, risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct due diligence, assess and advice on internal operations, business risks in all business areas.
  • Review internal policies, procedures and standards to identify and close ESG performance gaps.
  • Strategic partnership and liaison with external stakeholders – local and foreign.
  • Monitor industry trends and advocate for change as appropriate.
  • Develop and track checklists to guide credit processes for compliance.
  • Coordinate  actions and audits to drive compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • An Advanced Degree (at least Masters or equivalent) in Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences or relevant field.
  • 7 – 10 years relevant experience in working with private sector firms especially in the finance sector and across industry sectors (including infrastructure, agribusiness, and/or manufacturing)
  • Specialist knowledge of ESG issues including climate risk, responsible lending and investment; impact investing, ESG integration and implementation, sustainable and green finance, circular economy, corporate disclosure on environmental issues as well as the relevant standards and frameworks.
  • Understanding of ESG ratings and performance parameters and the Nigerian Sustainability Banking Principles.
  • ESG Analyst and ESG Investing Certifications are essential.
  • Project Management or Business Analysis professional certification(s) give added advantage.
  • Verbal and written business reporting and presentation.
