Job Summary
- Build and manage a team of Infrastructure, service-oriented, business outcome focused specialist teams responsible for the support & Management of a multi-vendor stack of Infrastructure platforms, integrated to deliver business services to agreed service levels
Principal Functions
Strategic/Management:
- Own and manage the infrastructure platform and services to deliver the IT goals. Bring a business management approach and deliver IaaS to all business services
- Contribute to IT planning by ensuring that infrastructure platform projections and budgets are accurate, and that costs are well managed
- Build strong infrastructure platform support capability within the team and proactively identify all relevant risks that will threaten the success of the team and mitigate these risks by the implementation and enforcement of relevant processes and action plans
Operational:
- Ensure that availability targets for infrastructure platforms are aligned with overall service targets
- Contribute relevant IT performance metrics for management reports, by the specified deadlines, covering key aspects of service, projects, and people
- Provide out of hours support and guidance to the infrastructure platform support team as needed
- Identify new processes or modify existing processes to improve efficiencies in the support and management of the infrastructure platform stack
- Ensure that the team follow company standards, including security baselines and industry best practice approach to delivering all IaaS & PaaS services
- Continuously evaluates the design, functionality and performance of supported business applications and makes thoughtful and significant recommendations for Infrastructure improvements/retirements
- Ensure transition and support documentation is fit for purpose, to a high standard and kept up to date
- Undertake periodic appraisals, recruit, train and develop team members in conjunction with the HR team to meet the changing needs of the company
- Carry out other activities as instructed by the Head, IT Operations.
Educational Requirements
- First Degree or equivalent in Computer Science/IT, Engineering or a related or relevant discipline
Experience, Skills & Competencies
- Five (5) + years of combined Telecom/IT/applications management experience in high-impact role(s) with clear progression in levels of responsibilities
- Demonstrable experience managing a complex stack of multi-vendor Infrastructure platforms at the desired scale, preferably in a Telco environment
- Excellent knowledge in compute, Virtualization, Private Cloud, Public Cloud and understanding of core operating system constructs such as memory, processor, and I/O – disk and network)
- Expert in Information Lifecycle Management (Backup & Archiving)
- Proven professional experience and understanding of Storage, Network, Database, Security and Software Defined Technologies
- Sound knowledge of internal business processes, leading/emerging technologies, and developments within the mobile telecommunications industry and related ecosystems
- Self-starter, with good people management / exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills; Strong can-do attitude and aptitude to drive innovation
- Experience in working through complex issues and providing alternative solutions

3). Manager.BSS & RAN Operations
Location: Abuja
- Coordinate the daily BSS operations includingoperations and maintenance, CR/WO implementation, integration, andcommissioning of 2G/3G/4G sites and health checks for BSS and RAN systems
- Principal Functions
- Coordinating new RAN nodes integration
- Coordinating corrective RAN/BSS maintenance asrequired, and assisting the field operation teams to resolve BSS/RAN issuesincluding clearing of QOS alarms, resolving BSS-related outage and networkproblems.
- Coordinating root cause analysis, network trendanalysis and incident reporting
- Coordinating RAN Node health checks and preventivemaintenance
- Coordinating second level and necessary backoffice support to the Field, and NOC teams
- Ensuring optimum availability of BSS nodes
- Coordinating the BSS database management,including network parameter changes, BSC/RNC rehoming, cutovers, new featuresimplementation, network upgrades, BTS/Node B rehoming and packet switchconfigurations.
- Proactively working with the RF planning team andother stakeholders for deployment of new network features and network improvingactivities on the network.
- Coordinating the implementation of BSS/RAN-relatedwork orders (WOs) and change requests (CRs)
- Provision of expert BSS operations advice onsolutions proposed by various BSS vendors.
- Troubleshooting of critical BSS faults such asfaults caused by software bugs, interface faults, severe KPI impacting faultsusing advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Provision of BSS inputs for cross-technologyengagement with other units involved in the deployment of technical solutions
- Participating in major incident reviews,supporting incident managers in identifying real causes and accuratedescriptions of incidents and impacts
- Management of BSS teams’ activities and evaluationof their performance.

4). Engineer Vas Planning
Location: Lagos
Provide support on allVAS platforms and ensure they have adequate capacity to support deployedservices for all commercial requirements based on identified business needs
Principal Functions
- Support theplanning and optimization of EMTS value added services (VAS) platforms andensure compatibility and integration with EMTS existing infrastructure.
- Participate inthe design and implementation of VAS Messaging, Mobile data, WAP, GPRS,Multi-media products, etc.
- Collate allRFP document for any new VAS platform planned to be deployed based oncommercial requirements.
- Enhance the forecastmechanism for proper capacity planning of all the VAS nodes.
- Assist inthe coordination and integration of new products as it affects USSD, IPCC, SMSCMMS and other network elements.
