1). Research Associate

Role Summary
- The role will provide research inputs to assist in the business development activities of KPMG and provide the firm’s personnel with research insight on our clients and targets, markets, and competitors.
- The personnel will also identify and provide other necessary information and analyses to support winning sales and service delivery activities.
Responsibilities
- Work with Line of Business (LOB) desk to identify key national accounts/targets for the financial year
- Global and domestic trends monitoring across industries
- Classify the clients/targets to sectors
- Coordinate annual client care
- Provide the historical background of the company and the sector
- Summarize the business activities of the company
- Conduct SWOT, PEST & Porter Five Forces’ analyses on the company
- Highlight recent key developments and activities’ drivers in the company
- Extract key business strategic information from the reports of the chairman, directors and auditors as stated in the annual report
- Compile the list of the company’s senior management. Design relationship matrix to build relationship with the company
- Qualitative and quantitative research for thought leadership publications
- Participate in data gathering and meetings with vendors (if any)
- Assist in developing the thought leadership publication with the relevant unit.
- Conduct a general overview of all competitors, including the big-4 and competitors in the advisory space
- Generate periodic competitive intelligence
- Obtain the audit fees and identify the auditors of the quoted companies.
- Summarize recent developments (news and events) relating to the competitors.
- Highlight the SWOT analysis of the leading professional services firms.
- Macroeconomic database maintenance and update
- Carry out research on relevant topical issues in the Nigerian economy.
- Economic and research analysis for internal engagements
- Compile and update data/information specific to each LOB, to serve as repository for research purpose
- Carry out LOB research requests and other ad-hoc primary research activities as necessary

2). Business Development (BD) Professional – Energy & Natural Resources (ENR)

Job Summary
- The Business Development (BD) professional for Energy & Natural Resources (ENR) will be responsible for driving sector-specific growth initiatives, client engagement, and market development strategies within Africa ENR Sector.
- This role requires a proactive, strategic, and relationship-driven approach to expand KPMG’s footprint in the ENR sector.
- The individual will work closely with sector leadership, client service teams, and other key stakeholders to execute the ENR sector programme and related initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Sector Strategy and Growth Execution:
- Support the Africa ENR Sector Lead in developing and executing the Energy & Natural Resources sector strategy across key markets in Africa.
- Identify and assess growth opportunities within Oil & Gas, Mining, Utilities, and Renewable Energy sectors.
- Assist in developing targeted business development plans and initiatives to strengthen KPMG’s position in the ENR industry.
Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key ENR clients, industry leaders, and decision-makers.
- Support client account teams in driving strategic conversations, identifying opportunities, and developing tailored solutions.
- Organize client engagements, roundtables, and sector-focused events to strengthen KPMG’s visibility and thought leadership.
Market Intelligence and Insights:
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to inform business development strategies.
- Conduct market research and analysis to support the development of industry-relevant propositions.
- Provide insights to leadership on emerging risks, challenges, and opportunities in the ENR sector.
Collaboration and Internal Coordination:
- Work closely with the ENR leadership team, country practice teams, and service line leaders to ensure alignment with the overall Africa ENR strategy.
- Partner with Marketing, Communications, and Proposal teams to develop sector-specific collateral, thought leadership, and client engagement materials.
- Drive cross-border collaboration to enhance KPMG’s regional ENR sector presence and service delivery.
- Collaborate with Clients and Markets teams and Account Leads to drive targeted business development initiatives and strengthen client relationships.
Proposal Development and Go-to-Market Initiatives:
- Support the development of client proposals, pitch presentations, and sector-focused value propositions.
- Assist in shaping sector-led campaigns and initiatives aimed at driving revenue growth.
- Engage in bid management and proposal processes to enhance the firm’s success in ENR sector opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Energy Management, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 – 8 years of experience in business development, energy & natural resources, consulting, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a professional services firm or energy sector institution is advantageous.
- Strong track record of driving business growth and strategic initiatives within the ENR sector.
