Job Title: Litigation Clerk/Office Assistant
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
- We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Litigation Clerk/ Office Assistantto join our legal team.
- The successful candidate will assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation, including case preparation, document management, and court filings.
- This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a commitment to providing excellent support to our legal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Document Management: Organize and maintain files for active litigation cases, ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
- Case Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions, including gathering and organizing evidence, drafting legal documents, and preparing trial binders.
- Court Filings: File legal documents with courts, both electronically and in person, ensuring compliance with all court rules and deadlines.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, schedule meetings, and provide updates on case status as directed by attorneys.
- Research: Conduct legal research using online resources and legal databases to support case strategy and development.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence.
- Any other duty assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- Education: OND or its equivalent
- Experience: Previous experience in a legal environment is highly desirable. Minimum of 2 years.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
- Candidate must be very knowledgeable about parts of Lagos State.
Salary
- N100,000 / Month.
