Title: Mechanical Engineer (NYSC)

Job Summary

  • Our innovative and growing company is looking for a mechanical engineering intern. We appreciate you taking the time to review the list of qualifications and to apply for the position.

Responsibilities 

  • Apply standard techniques and procedures in building information modeling of air conditioning, heating, ventilating, and plumbing systems for commercial buildings
  • Conduct preliminary selections and adaptations of HVAC&P equipment for specific applications in commercial buildings
  • Implement prototype development utilizing in-house and outside resources (3D printing and/or other modeling processes)
  • Participate in end-user assessment of the prototypes for desirability and feasibility to meet target metrics
  • Complete competitive benchmarking by conducting failure analysis and other lab testing to produce technical reports, quality standards, feature/benefit analysis and customer-backed value proposition technical data
  • Establishes learning objectives with the Mechanical Systems Lead Engineer
  • Supports assignments that represent general technical skill in the field of mechanical engineering and aerospace, including design through CAD, analysis and simulation
  • Job shadows at all levels in the field, including design, analysis, simulation, project management and leadership
  • Work closely with and take work direction from Mechanical Engineers

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field
  • Candidates should possess strong engineering and computer skills with the ability to learn new systems
  • Knowledge of the practical application of mechanical engineering science and technology
  • A candidate who equips with experience in HVAC or facilities systems will be added advantages
  • Knowledge of mechanics, dynamics, and strength of materials
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, and heat transfer is a must
  • Creativity and innovation essential to meet customer requirements and to improve performance, quality and cost
