OVERALL FUNCTION
- We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Network Administrator to join our organization.
- As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our organization’s computer networks and ensuring their smooth and secure operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Network Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment.
- Network Maintenance: Regularly monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary maintenance tasks to ensure optimal network operation.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols, to protect the network from cyber threats.
- Network Monitoring: Utilize network monitoring tools to track network traffic, identify bottlenecks or anomalies, and proactively address issues.
- User Support: Provide technical support to end-users and resolve network-related problems, including connectivity issues and access rights.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and network availability.
- Network Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, equipment, and procedures to assist in troubleshooting and future planning.
- Upgrades and Patch Management: Plan and execute network upgrades, apply patches and firmware updates, and keep network equipment up-to-date.
- Capacity Planning: Assess network capacity and plan for scalability as the organization grows.
- Vendor Management: Interact with network equipment vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee service agreements.
- Compliance: Ensure network compliance with industry regulations and best practices, such as HIPAA or PCI DSS, if applicable.
- Training: Provide training to staff on network-related topics, security practices, and usage guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is often required. Relevant certifications like Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+ can be beneficial.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration or a related role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of network security concepts, firewall configurations, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze network performance data and make recommendations for improvements.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize them appropriately.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
