Job Description

  • This role leads the Governance, Risk Management and Compliance work streams in Cellulant.
  • The role holder will actively participate and contribute to the deployment of the right controls environment and management approach that assure Cellulant and its stakeholders are safeguarded.

Key Relationships and Stakeholders:

  • All business lines and functions, Cellulant clients and partners, Regulators in all Cellulant markets, Third-party suppliers and Auditors.

Core Responsibilities
Leadership:

  • Attend relevant leadership meetings and support oversight of compliance in all markets.
  • In the event of serious breaches of regulation or board risk tolerances, ensure EXCO and relevant regulators are informed; actions are taken quickly to remediate the issues; and the activities are discontinued.
  • Track significant issues from compliance metrics, assurance activities, audit reviews and regulatory inspections, providing validation of issue closure where necessary.
  • Support all control checks undertaken by the company as part of risk management and ensure that business lines and functions implement quality assurance standards and workflows/SOPs for their activities.
  • Be accountable for identification and escalation of potential risks and issues to EXCO through appropriate governance channels. In addition to periodic reporting and timely escalation of significant risks and issues arising from compliance and operational risk monitoring and assurance activities.
  • Coordinate the management of audits and exams.
  • Develop, update and recommend, for relevant approvals, appropriate policies/processes/SOPs to address compliance and other operational risks, while aligning with relevant regulatory requirements.

People:

  • Provide leadership, management and coaching to direct reports to ensure they are highly engaged and performing to their potential
  • Promote a culture of openness, trust and risk awareness, where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm. In addition to ensuring forward planning, prioritization, deadline management and collaboration towards effective and efficient work practices

Business:

  • Support the business to make decisions based on current and future policies, practices and trends.
  • Keep track of and provide advice to relevant stakeholders on the interpretation and application of regulatory expectations, best practices and policies related to Risk & Compliance.
  • Support the resolution of competing requirements between regulations, for example between AML regulations and data privacy or information security regulations.

Risk Management:

  • Maintain oversight of risk management framework- both execution and supervisory. As well as provide advice on its application.
  • Implement AML, Sanctions, ABC risks identification and assessment methodologies and oversee the review and analysis of Cellulant client base to identify and manage high risk clients.

Regulatory and Business Conduct:

  • Show exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct
  • Contribute in embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct across Cellulant.
  • This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with the letter and spirit of all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Qualifications & Experience
Qualification:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or any other relevant field.

Must have experience:

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience within Compliance roles ideally within reputable financial institutions or the payments industry. Experience should include:
    • Solid working knowledge of financial services regulations with a strong understanding of the local regulatory regime.
    • Liaising with senior management on corporate and/or regulatory strategy
