Title: Program Assistant

Duties
- The Program Assistant – Public Relations renders administrative support to the Bureau of International Narcotics & Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Nigeria team and is the lead action officer for external outreach regarding INL activities in Nigeria. S/he is supervised by the INL Program Management Specialist. Incumbent will serve as the management assistant and public relations assistant for INL, specifically the incumbent will be the main point of contact on public relations issues for the section, gather information and draft public engagement material, talking points, social media posts, and otherwise support external engagement. The Incumbent will also perform office management responsibilities, including scheduling and planning meetings, organize and maintain files and the shared office calendar, among other duties to support INL Nigeria, both in Abuja and Lagos. Position holder will also serve as occasional money holder.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience managing assistance for a program/project, coordinating, and managing programs/project within an office or section within a large organization, maintaining a database and/or shared documents, familiarity with communications and effective report writing work is required. Experience working with an international donor organization or equivalent work with a private or host government entity is required. Experience in other administrative duties, collection, analysis, evaluation and presentation of information is also required
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of hosts government law enforcement agencies protocols and rules of engagement with the public is required.
Education Requirements:
- Four-year University Degree in Communications, Public Relations, International Development/Relations, Criminology or Business Administration is required.
Note: NYSC Certificate or Exemption document is required.
Evaluations:

- LANGUAGE: Fluency speaking/reading/writing English language is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to learn technology tools, including MS Word, Excel, Team, Project and Outlook, use of keyboard type, use of teleworking tools, and DOS (Department of State) software applications is required.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multicultural team is required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate information in an objective, transparent, accurate and concise manner both orally and written are required. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external points of contact is required.
- Drafting/writing/reporting skills; as well as ability to operate office equipment are required
- A valid Nigeria driver’s license is required.
- A speed test will be conducted.
