Since its establishment in 1989, AHI has served as an advocate and catalyst for creating better life options for young people in Nigeria. By working in partnership with local and international donors, AHI has helped to bring young people’s issues into the public domain and gotten state governments and the Federal government to take a stand in support thereof

Job Title: Programme Intern (Communication and Programme)

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Internship

Reports to: Programmer Manager

Duration: 3 Months (With the possibility of extensionbased on performance)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs aimed at enhancing young people’s health and development.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis to measure program impact.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop project reports and proposals.
  • Engage with community stakeholders and participants to gather feedback.

Qualifications

  • Recently graduated with a degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in program management or community work is a plus.
  • A passion for youth empowerment and community development.

Technical Expertise, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrating a willingness to learn new ideas using a combination of learning approaches.
    Self-motivation and Initiative
  • Ability to inspire oneself to take on challenging tasks and commitment to deliver work of excellent quality.
  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills and strong research skills
  • Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people
  • Patience, adaptability, flexibility, and ability to improvise and remain responsive and to communicate clearly and effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills.
