Job Title: Project Coordinator Support
Location: Jahun, Jigawa
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (Renewable)
Working hours: 208 working hours per month.
Main Purpose
- Support the Project Coordinator in coordination tasks, maintaining positive relations with local and networking contacts and authorities, and contributing to context analysis and follow–up to ensure smooth project operations in line with MSF guidelines.
Job Description
- Represent MSF externally, with or without the Project Coordinator (PC), following agreed messaging to promote the organization’s image and foster positive relationships.
- Monitor and analyze local and state developments, updating the PC regularly and maintaining a contextual database with biweekly summaries for Jigawa State and surrounding areas.
- Support exploratory visits, needs assessments, and contribute to planning and response strategies.
- Assist the PC in internal and external communications, including engagement with staff, health officials, local authorities, different networking contacts and partners. Record meeting minutes and maintain the project logbook.
- Build and maintain regular contact with local stakeholders—NGOs, UN agencies, authorities, and communities—ensuring updated records and organizing key meetings.
- Translate and review documents, interpret when required, and support the drafting of clear and effective correspondence.
- Provide cultural and contextual briefings to new team members and contribute to orientation efforts.
- Develop strong local networks and stay informed on community dynamics to support project goals.
- Assist in tracking key project documents, including agreements and official records.
- Offer insights on community structures in Jigawa to better guide project planning and implementation.
- Remain available outside regular hours when needed to support urgent matters.
- Carry out additional tasks as delegated by the PC.
Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Secondary education Level
- Desirable: University Degree
Experience:
- Proven experience working in complex political and humanitarian environments
- Deep understanding of local culture and Islamic traditions to support respectful and inclusive community engagement
- Previous experience in similar jobs in the field of humanitarian aid with MSF or other NGOs
- Management experience
- Experience in data collection, reporting and analysis
Languages:
- English (high level command oral and written).
Knowledge:
- Good computer command.
- Knowledge of and interest in humanitarian issues
- In–depth contextual knowledge and analysis skills
- High level of knowledge of local culture and customs

Remuneration
- According to MSF salary scale plus 13th month allowance equivalent to 1 month of gross salary.
