Job Title: Sales Merchandiser

Location: Mushin, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Retail Scouting & Acquisition: Identify and onboard new retail outlets within assigned territory.
  • Order Generation & Sales Execution: Sell FMCG products directly to retailers, taking and processing orders in coordination with the distributor.
  • Product Merchandising: Ensure proper display, pricing, and promotion of products in retail outlets.
  • Stock Monitoring: Track distributor stock levels and ensure product availability for timely order fulfillment.
  • Route Coverage: Maintain a systematic journey plan to cover designated retail outlets and optimize call frequency.
  • Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with retailers to ensure sustained patronage and customer loyalty.
  • Market Intelligence: Report onpricing, promotions, and market trends.
  • Sales Reporting: Submit daily/weekly sales and activity reports to the supervisor.
  • POS & Visibility Management: Ensure the deployment and proper use of Point of Sale (POS) materials in retail outlets.
  • Debt Management (if applicable): Monitor retailer credit (where allowed) and ensure timely payment recovery.

Requirements

  • OND / HND / BSc in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years in field sales, merchandising, or distributor-based sales within FMCG.
  • Ability to work independently and cover extensive field routes daily.
  • Strong interpersonal, selling, and negotiation skills.
  • Good understanding of local retail structure and dynamics.
  • Familiarity with sales reporting tools (manual or digital).
  • Must be physically fit and mobile (motorcycle riding license may be an advantage if required).

Salary

  • N100,000 / month.
