Description
- The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has a vacancy based in Vienna, Austria, for Senior Research Analyst in the Petroleum Studies Department.
Main Responsibilities
- Carries out and coordinates under the supervision of the Department Head and in collaboration with other analysts, detailed analytical studies relating to international oil market developments and follows up and reports on international research undertaken in this field.
- Advises on and contributes to other studies to be initiated / carried out by the Department.
- Assists staff as required in their assigned tasks.
- Closely monitors and analyses short-term developments in the international oil market and world economy and reports on findings.
- Drafts and helps coordinate inputs and production of all reports issued by the Department, including weekly, bimonthly and monthly reports as well as reports to Governing Bodies to ensure timeliness and high standards of reports and presentations.
- Prepares and/or helps coordinate preparation of presentations.
- Develops proposals, as well as drafts sections and helps coordinate the inputs and production of information boxes and feature articles in the Monthly Oil Market Report and in the General Report.
- Identifies, collects and maintains data and information relating to the areas of work.
- Carries out any other tasks assigned by the relevant superiors as pertain to his/her background, qualifications and position.
Requirements and Work Experience
- University degree in Energy Economics or related field
- Advanced degree preferred
- University degree: 10 years of work experience
- Advanced degree: 8 years of work experience
