Job Summary
- This role focuses on creating detailed electrical designs, schematics, layouts, and component specifications for electrical panels to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptual & Detailed Design: Develop innovative and efficient electrical panel designs based on project requirements.
- Component Selection: Identify and integrate appropriate electrical components such as switch gears (low and medium voltage), circuit breakers, relays, switch boxes and wiring to ensure system reliability and performance efficiency.
- CAD & Electrical Schematics: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create precise electrical diagrams, layouts, and technical drawings.
- Protection & Electrical Scheme Design: Interpret and translate customer requirements into comprehensive system solutions, incorporating innovative approaches to products, people technology, and system optimization.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations.
- Prototyping & Testing: Develop and test functional prototypes to validate designs before mass production as well as develop testing documentation and conduct factory and onsite testing for Protection and Electrical schemes during project execution.
- Technical Documentation: Generate comprehensive electrical design documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications for manufacturing and quality assurance.
- Project Implementation: Execute engineering projects efficiently, ensuring adherence to established time, cost, and quality parameters.
- Customer Support & Fault Investigation: Provide technical assistance and perform post-fault investigations to support customer needs and ensure system reliability.
- Business Development Support: Identify market opportunities and contribute to business growth by assessing potential areas for expansion within industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist (preferred).
- The ideal candidate should have a strong background in electrical design, CAD Software, power system designs, Protection systems with a proven track record in developing prototypes and conduct testing, and commissioning.
- At least 6+ years of experience in sizing power, low and medium voltage switch gear rating and switch boxes
- At least 6+ years experience in power engineering, panel configuration and design as well as installation
- Experience serving as a Technical Lead on projects, with overall responsibility for ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Proficiency in CAD Software: Expertise in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent computer-aided design (CAD) tools for creating precise electrical schematics and layouts.
- Circuit Design & Analysis: Strong analytical skills to develop and evaluate electrical circuits, low and medium voltage switch gears, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and performance requirements.
- Precision & Accuracy: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high-quality and error-free electrical panel designs that meet industry standards.
